Wayne L. Hubbell

Wayne L. Hubbell is a distinguished professor emeritus at the University of California-Los Angeles. He has received the International EPR Society Gold Medal, the Alcon Research Institute Award, the Biophysical Society Elisabeth Roberts Cole Award, the NIH MERIT Award, the Research to Prevent Blindness Senior Investigator Award, and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation Teacher-Scholar Award. His research is focused on understanding the inter-relationship of protein structure, dynamics and function. Of particular interest are proteins involved in visual signal transduction (rhodopsin, the G-protein transducin and arrestin) and soluble ligand-binding proteins. He has received fellowships with the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Biophysical Society, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
