Leda Cosmides

Leda Cosmides is distinguished professor of psychological and brain sciences at the University of California-Santa Barbara. She co-directs the Center for Evolutionary Psychology, which she co-founded with John Tooby in 1994. Her pioneering work in evolutionary psychology has earned her the American Association for the Advancement of Science Prize for Behavioral Science Research, the American Psychological Association Distinguished Scientific Award for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology, a J.S. Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Human Behavior and Evolution Society. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
