H. Vincent Poor is Michael Henry Strater University Professor at Princeton University. His recent honors include the Carl Friedrich Gauss Education Award, the IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless Communications, the Hall of Fame Award of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the John Fritz Medal and the URSI Booker Gold Medal, and memberships and fellowships in the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study, the Australian Academy of Science, the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, the Royal Society of Canada, and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences. His current research is focused on advances in several fields of rapid technology development, notably wireless networks and energy systems, and on the fundamentals underlying them, including information theory, machine learning and network science.
